My CFP® Certification Advantage

The Benefits of Working with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional

Not all financial planners are certified. A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification means the financial planner has fulfilled rigorous education and experience requirements set by the CFP Board. The process to obtain the certification includes demonstrating key standards that are known as the “four E’s:” education, examination, experience, and ethical requirements.

To receive the CFP® certification, one must have a minimum of three years experience in the financial planning process and must develop their financial planning education by completing a comprehensive course of study. Additionally, practitioners must abide by a strict code of professional conduct and ethical responsibilities. Once certified, they must complete continuing education every two years to stay current with financial planning developments and best practices.

A CFP® professional always puts the client’s interests first and upholds a high level of ethics, objectivity, and professionalism. Through a Code of Ethics, Certified Financial Planners™ agree to offer fair and diligent financial planning advice and services. Always putting the client first, they are required to offer objective advice and services that are based on the client’s individual needs. They are also required to inform clients how they are compensated.

As a CFP® professional , I serve my clients in a fiduciary capacity. This means I put my clients’ needs and goals first and only offer them services and solutions that are appropriate to their financial situation, needs, and objectives. I believe it’s important for clients to trust their financial advisor and working with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional may provide an added sense of security.
